As the most powerful nuclear-powered icebreaker in the world suited for passenger travel, the 50 Years of Victory can break up to 3-meter thick ice, features 2 nuclear reactors and 75,000 horsepower engines. With only 120 passengers, the ship is perfectly suited for small-scale expedition cruising, allowing us to pay special attention to each passenger.

Enjoy gourmet meals made by our onboard chef using fresh produce delivered for each cruise.

Day 3-6: En route to the North Pole
Enjoy your days on the open sea with spectacular views from deck, visit the bridge and join lectures by our polar experts. Experience the icebreaker in action and see how it breaks through 3-meter thick ice. Depending on weather conditions, we’ll organize flight-seeing with our onboard helicopter offering the best views of the Arctic!

Day 8-10: Explore Franz Josef Land
Visit one of the most remote places on Earth. Explore the archipelago and the Russian Arctic National Park with iconic wildlife such as polar bears and walruses. With 24 hours of daylight, you’ll get plenty of time to explore the unique local flora and fauna. Follow in the footsteps of famous Arctic explorers attempting to conquer the North Pole such as Georgy Sedov, Fridtjof Nansen and Fredrik Johansen. Visit the well-preserved polar station on Tikhaya Bay and send a postcard from the northernmost post office in the world.

Step ashore knowing you are now part of a small and very exclusive group of travelers who have conquered the North Pole! Enjoy a last breakfast before disembarking from the ship. We’ll transfer you to the airport (included in the price) and hope to welcome you on one of our expeditions in the future!

How to pack for a North Pole cruise
Polar clothing guide:
  • You won’t need to bring a water- and wind-proof jacket. You’ll receive our signature expedition parka to keep warm!
  • Waterproof trousers are a must and you’ll need them for landings, Zodiac cruises and hikes on land. Choose Gore-Tex and similar materials that are both waterproof and breathable.
  • At least two sets of thermal underwear, including three pairs of socks.
  • Shirts and T-shirts for everyday activities.
  • Jeans or other comfortable trousers for your time aboard (several pairs).
  • Turtleneck shirts and pullovers that you can wear during leisure time aboard, as well as a warm base layer for outings.
  • Wool or polar fleece sweaters to keep you warm.
  • At least one smart-casual outfit for the captain’s dinner and onboard parties.
